How to Design a Website
This three part tutorial will take you through the process of designing a clean and modern website from scratch. These detailed step by step instructions are easy to follow even if you've never dealt with Photoshop, HTML and CSS before.
For this project you will need Photoshop and an HTML editor. If you are new to this, it will take at least a few hours to complete, so don't try to do it all in one day. It shouldn't be tiring, it should be fun.
When you are designing a website you have three major steps to accomplish:
- first you have to design it in Photoshop, i.e. you simply draw it there in every single detail so that there is no confusion about what you want to see as a result when you are transferring your design to code;
- you describe what you see on your Photoshop image in HTML ;
- you add style and color by using CSS code
Since these are three major steps, this tutorial will also consist of three parts. Once you pass through this whole process once, you will be able to do it again yourself. Sure it will take time to become a pro but that's okay. We need to respect the process of mastering the art of web design. So, let's get started!
